This pic i drew on a challenge from tiana, as a reward for her giving me my whatevereth pageview. so there.
though, i'm not altoghether happy with it, it's decent.
in case it's not obvious, you're looking at a city in war. an overconfident general and one of the general's minions are overlooking the city, watching the progress. the city is darkened by the plumes of smoke rising in the distance, caused by conflict in that area. the general decides to visit the scene itself, with the personal bodyguards, and 'ease the progress'
wow, that's the most thought i've ever given a pic...
heh, cool.
pen and pencil for the clouds
pen for everything else.
but i'm not quite happy with all of it. the smoke isn't obvious that it's smoke, and it's rather sketchy. even though, that's the style i typically work in....
awww
you're so nice and art teacherly condescending.
hyea, i don't know about the talented part, i just draw for fun, though, i'm going to have to change that next semester with my ink techniques class
i finally worked my schedule out so i could take an art class.
that's not exactly how i meant it, but ok...
hmmm
i had an idea, maybe you can tell me if it's worth working on.
drawn first without color it would look like a window of a jail cell, with the prisoner looking out, holding a bar with one hand, the other hand on the sill, except the areas where the bars would be are left blank. and there are 7 bars. the background would be a typical jail cell, with detail, but not enough to distract the viewer.
then you go over the pic in color, leaving the face b+w, but making each 'bar' a 'pillar of light' in each color, with each color reflecting respectively on the face, but only enough so it's obvious that there's light emanating from the bars, but not enough to make the face be completely in color.
the idea is to have the person being imprisoned away from color, they have no color.
Okay, I'll advanced critique you later, because I'm on a library computer and running out of time... but I like the layout. Am I permitted to steal and warp, since it was my request? It's an interesting picture... most of it I like, there's just a few things I think I shall poke at once I get back on.
yeah, it is your picture, and if i knew where you lived, i might have even mailed it to you.
anyways, there are a lot of things i don't particularly like about it, but can't change because the whole pic is in pen...
feel free to mess with it, but you have to show me the results. even if you don't load it to DA.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
